My Dilemma With the Social Dilemma
I had serious problems with The Social Dilemma. First of all, I'm not saying there isn't genuine manipulation and wrong-doing. But here we go again, externalizing and projecting what we do to ourselves in our heads, all day long every damn day. We are our own social media...it's a symbol, a mirror. We manufacture reality, believe we're right, and try to sell it to everyone else. If we really want to have a healthy psychology we have to become impervious to manipulations and blame games and start getting honest. We have to stop victimizing ourselves and each other. We have no choice but to each do our work...real, deep, honest internal work. Pointing fingers at some outside boogie creature (political side, big banks, social media, climate change...) rather than taking responsibility for what WE do to ourselves will never heal us or our world. It's just more distraction and leads to the same old hell. Only one way out. Do...the...work.
